Are you interested in Olympus cameras and the images they can create? Have you been on the fence about changing your gear or finding something that’s lighter and easier to travel with? Are you worried about making a camera change because it’s scary and you’re not sure if you’ll like the image quality from a new camera? Have you ever been curious about Olympus RAW files and how they hold up to editing?
Well if you said yes to any of those questions, then this post is for you (every photo you see in this article has been uploaded and is available to download/test).
I’ve uploaded several RAW image files from a few of my recent trips so you can download, test, and see how you like working with them. All of these photo files have been shot with the Olympus E-M1X or the E-M5 Mark iii and are from a variety of locations and conditions (the tropics, winter, forests, jungles, mountains, etc.).
*Since the E-M5 Mark iii is still unreleased and not directly supported in Lightroom yet, I’ve converted these RAW files to .tiff files. These types of files behave a little differently than normal RAW files so please keep that in mind. If you’d prefer to have a different codec please let me know).
A little more information:
I know it can be intimidating when you think about switching from one camera system to another. I myself had a little uncertainty when I first considered leaving my Canon 1dx Mark ii at home and only traveling with the Olympus E-M1X…but let me tell you what, I’ve never looked back since I made the jump! Traveling with a system that’s light and just as strong as any other camera I’ve used before is a mind blowing thing to me. I still ask myself each and every day why it took me this long to make the switch.
I hope that having access to these files will help make your camera decision easier. If you still have any questions about Olympus cameras, the RAW files, or anything at all, please do not hesitate to reach out via the comments section or email. I would love to help you out!
Cheers and thanks for your time!
