Tucked deep within the mountains of Montana, this lake holds a special place in Justin’s heart. As an athlete in high school, he would run up and down the winding trail with his teammates every year for conditioning. He has fond memories of scrambling up the iconic Great Northern Mountain that towers over the lake—especially in 2023 when he reached the summit with his dad who was 72 at the time. 

In the fall, the lake transforms into a golden wonderland as the larch trees turn color, casting a perfect reflection on the calm water. “I grew up running to this lake for soccer training,” Justin recalls. “It’s incredible to return each year and see the colors pop in the fall. There’s something about this place that never gets old.”

The combination of family memories, local adventure, and seasonal beauty makes this lake a Montana classic and a personal favorite.
